Like many people around the world, I have not been able to travel as much as I would have liked in the last 18 months. And I am itching to get out and explore the world again! It’s no secret – I love to travel! Whilst I probably won’t be boarding a plane for a few months yet, I’m already dreaming about all the places I want to visit. So I wanted to share my top destinations that I plan on visiting in 2022 with you.
The Philippines
Ok, so this is not really a new destination for me. But, I do have family in The Philippines that I haven’t seen in almost 2 years. Not only does it make an ideal tropical vacation – I would also get to visit my family and friends!
Despite visiting The Philippines more than 10 times in my whole lifetime, there is still a ton I haven’t done. That’s the beauty of the country as there is so much to do and explore! I’ve been island hopping in Palawan and even the more obscure ‘ghost walk’ of Intramuros.
For my next visit, I’m most looking forward to exploring the other main islands and destinations such as The Chocolate Hills in Bohol and the neighbouring island of Cebu with it’s famous food and historic sites.

Bali
The island of Bali has been on my travel bucket list for many years! Located in Indonesia, it’s famous for it’s tropical setting of gorgeous beaches, lush forests and calm and serene lifestyle. Whereas most island destinations in Asia are also home to bustling city scapes, Bali is definitely more of a relaxing and calming place to holiday.

Bali is home to many beautiful natural and cultural wonders including temples, nature reserves, rice terraces and stunning waterfalls nestled perfectly in gorgeous green jungles. This destination is popular amongst beach goers and nature lovers alike, but you can also expect many interesting sites for those that like explore by living like the locals.
Sicily
Now I’m no stranger to Italy and all the glorious things it has to offer. Pasta, wine, cheese… the list goes on. But I have never had the pleasure of visiting Sicily! My travels have brought me to some amazing Italian destinations including; Rome, Milan, Florence and even Bologna. All of which have their own unique Italian charm. Rome and Milan are great for shopping and seeing some of the world’s best art and Italian architecture. But Bologna has to be top of the list for food!

I have a few Italian friends all of which have Sicily as one of the top places to visit in Italy! So I would be bad friend if I didn’t listen right? That’s why Sicily has to be one of my top summer destinations come 2022.
Vietnam
Another destination in Southeast Asia I have been dreaming about is Vietnam. A few years ago, I would have never thought about visiting Vietnam. I thought it was too similar to The Philippines and it just didn’t appeal to me.
This all changed after my boyfriend *duped* me into watching the episode of Top Gear where they do a tour of Vietnam. The history and culture of this country, not to mention the beautiful setting, is a destination that is hard to turn your nose up at! It’s been on my bucket list ever since…

Switzerland
Another European destination I have been dreaming about is Switzerland. A tad bit colder than my usual choice for vacations, it still boasts breathtaking scenic views. Imagine stunning ice-topped mountains, rolling green hills and dreamy castles and villages… The fact that it is also home to one of my favourite cheeses is just a perfect coincidence!

These are just a handful of places I am hoping to visit next year. But trust me, if time and money were no option there would be many more to add to this list! Where are you planning on heading next year?
