Exploring London: The Oxo Tower Brunch Review

Oxo Tower Brunch

Many London restaurants offer brunch menus now, but no one offers quite the same view as The Oxo Tower Bar & Restaurant. Harvey Nichols introduced The Oxo Tower Brunch menu last month and promises a selection of delicious dishes and cocktails.

I recently visited the iconic London venue along with my mum to try out their new brunch menu…

First Thoughts

Located alongside the river, the nearby area is buzzing with tourists and shoppers exploring the area. Making it a wonderful destination for those looking for something to do on the weekend. The bar and restaurant are located on the 8th floor of the Oxo Tower, so you have to take a lift up.

Once you get to the 8th floor you are greeted with a flood of natural light pouring in from the floor to ceiling glass windows. Highlighting why it has one of the best views on the river! We then headed over to the lovely host who took our coats and directed us to our seats.

However, I wasn’t in love with our first table as it was in the middle of the bar and not near enough to the windows to appreciate the view of London. But after asking the host, they kindly accommodated us to a seat closer to the window. Service was quick and all the staff we interacted with were highly attentive and friendly.

What’s on the Menu?

I stuck to a brunch-inspired dish and ordered the baked egg and chorizo with sourdough, whilst my mum opted for the slaw burger. I also ordered the rocket, fennel and parmesan salad on the side – this was actually the highlight for me as it was absolutely delicious!

The smaller brunch plates were a perfect size and prices ranged from £7-9. The larger dishes which already included sides were £17. The quality of the dishes definitely reflected the high standards of the main restaurant and taste-wise did not disappoint!

I also couldn’t help but order off menu! The regular bar menu also had a great selection of dishes. I ordered the prawn tempura and calamari – these were absolutely delicious too!

What’s Special About this Brunch?

If you’re after a spot with a view, then look no further. The view from the Oxo Tower really is an incredible. The cocktails were also very tasty, so even if you’re not in the mood for food you can enjoy a drink or two out on their rooftop terrace.

The food is tasty, and everything is very modestly priced, despite being a popular central destination. Perfect for a weekend date with your significant other or evening cocktails with friends.

Final Thoughts

Both my mum and myself really enjoyed our overall experience at the Oxo Tower Brunch. Their food, service and atmosphere was a perfect balance of fine dining but still casual and relaxed.

It’s probably best to head over for the Oxo Tower Brunch to start your day. Then take a short walk along the river which leads you towards South Bank where you can explore the other bars and Christmas market stalls.

Top Recommendations:

  • The ‘Garden of Eden’ cocktail is divine!
  • They have great window booths, so try to request these in advance if you want a good view

Times & Cost:

  • 12:00 – 15:00 on weekends
  • Dishes range from £7-17 / £30 pp average spend for a dish & cocktail
  • Cocktails are around £13 on average
