This year marks the fourth year of The Bloggers Market, but it was actually my first year to attend. Hosted by the lovely bloggers; Carrie of Wish Wish Wish, Lucy of Shiny Thoughts, Olivia of What Olivia Did and Kristabel of I Want You To Know. This year, they were also joined by two of my favourite bloggers Reem of Five Five Fabulous and Zoe of Zoe London.
The event was held at Camden Collective, located just down the road from Warren Street and Euston Square stations. The venue was decked out in funky pastel colours and featured gorgeous floral arrangements throughout. Perfect for that cheeky Instagram flatlay, and probably the one time I didn’t feel like I was being judged for taking a random photo bent over in a yoga-worthy pose!
What’s it all about?
The Bloggers Market featured stalls laid out with the host’s pre-loved fashion & beauty goodies available to purchase. With a portion of the proceeds going to their chosen charities, what more reason did I need to shop? Available items ranged from shoes, bags and accessories to clothes, make-up and books.
Also available on the day were free manicures courtesy of the lovely ladies at Boudoir Beauty Parlour. As well as a marble print workshop from Pup Tart and a bullet journal workshop from the team at Oh Deer. Sweet treats and refreshments were also available throughout, courtesy of the lovely folks at Nix&Kix.
I opted for a pastel purple shade for my complimentary manicure before heading over to the peruse the goodies at the stalls. It was rather interesting to get a sneak peek into the closets of some of the most influential UK bloggers. As their individual personal styles range quite a bit, there was something to suit everyone. My personal fashion taste is quite eclectic so it was hard for me to pick a single favourite from the stalls. I eventually purchased some metallic silver mules, courtesy of Reem’s collection and a leather mini backpack from Lucy.
Bujo tips from the pros
So it’s come to my attention that not many people know what bullet journaling (or bujo for short) actually is. Luckily Ghenet of Ghenet Actually alongside the team at Oh Deer were on hand to give us some direction on the various uses for a bullet journal.
The starting point for anyone looking to start a bullet journal would be to understand the main functions of a bullet journal, these include:
- Having an index section
- Numbering pages
- Defining a key system (i.e what certain marks or symbols represent)
Ghenet was very insightful and even gave us a peek at her personal bujo. So I’m planning on doing a follow-up blog post on her other tips shortly. Check out my earlier post for basic starter tips and advice on how to bullet journal for now.
I thought the event was great! I’m an anti-social person so in fact hate attending events like these. I actually attended with my good friend Holly, of The Unseen Edit. But I genuinely think I would have been just fine to attend solo (sorry Hols!). The event staff were friendly and greeted us at the door, directing us to the various sections. Whilst the hosts were great at interacting with the attendees.
All in all, the event was very welcoming and just a nice opportunity to get to meet some great bloggers and brands. I look forward to attending future ones in years to come.
Were you at The Bloggers Market too? Did you manage to bag any goodies for yourself or check out any of the workshops?
